Classified Employee of the Year Award

Classified Employee of the Year Award
Each year Victor Elementary School District gives out a Classified Employee of the Year Award and this year that award went to Veronica Venegas from Sixth Street Prep. Veronica has been with the district and Sixth Street as a Bilingual Instructional Assistant for the past 16 years. From the beginning she has been involved with ELAC/DLAC, running the meetings at school and assisting at the district level with interpretation. She is also a part of the School Site Council and has been involved with parents in numerous areas such as assisting with CBET classes, Parent Project, Parent trainings, and the Latino Family Literacy Project.
Veronica says, “Sixth Street has been a home away from home for me.” She says the most rewarding aspect of her job is making a difference in students’ lives in helping them succeed to have a brighter future and also helping parents with whatever they need in order to help their students reach their goals. She credits her father’s influence for her work in education. She says he taught her that “helping to educate and assist students and their parents is the greatest gift of all.”
