About Sixth Street Prep
Sixth Street Prep carries its uniqueness through its size. It is one of Victor Elementary School District’s charter schools, which gives the campus the opportunity to be smaller than some of the other schools in the district. There are roughly about 230-240 students on the campus with 10 teachers. In the kindergarten, first grade, and second grade classrooms you will find no more than 20 students in each class. The smaller class sizes provide more quality time with the teacher, allowing for enrichment of students in order to meet their learning goals.
At Sixth Street Prep the instruction is focused on literacy, ensuring that students are reading at the proper grade level. Mrs. Cupp says one of the keys to success is reading at students grade levels. The school is also focusing on areas of math and increasing the student grade level abilities.
Mrs. Cupp says with such a small school, it really allows for everyone to be on the same page, “everything we do is as a unit.” She also describes the school as family oriented, because of its size the teachers are able to know each of the students, as well as families are able to get to know their teachers and the school.
